How it is stopped from making things up
Telling a model not to invent things is a request, not a control. So the constraint is the order of operations: your question is matched against the site’s own passages first, and when nothing matches, or nothing found could answer it, the model is never called at all: you get a fixed sentence saying so. When something does match, the model is given those passages and, if your chart is saved, the values AsterNym’s own calculators have already computed for you. It is instructed to ground factual answers only in that material. A paragraph that cites nothing is dropped; an answer with nothing left is discarded rather than shown.
The model never calculates a chart fact. If you are signed in, your Sun sign, Day Master, Life Path and the rest are computed on AsterNym’s server from the profile saved on your account, by the same engines as the rest of the site, and the model only explains them. Nothing your browser sends is treated as a fact. The limits below are enforced in code before any model runs, not by asking the model nicely.
It is still not infallible: a model can summarise a passage carelessly, and a passage can itself be out of date, so the sources sit under every answer for you to check.
For example
Can astrology tell me when I’ll get married?
No. Some traditions contain marriage-timing techniques, but none has been shown to predict a marriage date reliably. AsterNym can help you compare dates you have already chosen, but it will not tell you your wedding is destined for 14 May.
What it will not do
The same limits the rest of the site holds itself to. It will not predict a death, diagnose an illness, name the date you will marry or have a child, or give medical, legal or financial advice. Where a tradition makes a claim that has not held up to testing, it carries that through rather than quietly upgrading it.
