Symbolic systems: Western astrology, the Chinese zodiac, BaZi, numerology, Tarot birth cards, Zi Wei Dou Shu and Human Design add interpretive meanings. Those meanings are not scientific findings.

AsterNym synthesis: our 60 identities and some scoring tools combine outputs using methods we created and label as ours.

Your AsterNym identity is a separate synthesis created by AsterNym: your element from the Chinese Four Pillars, your modality from the Western zodiac, and your plane from numerology produce one of 60 identities. It is a convention of ours, versioned (asternym-identity-v2), not a tradition. Western astrology, Tarot, Zi Wei, Human Design and the other systems remain separate parts of the wider reading. You do not need to understand all these systems. We do the complicated part for you.

With a birth date, and a birthplace where needed to resolve local time, AsterNym can still calculate many date-stable features: your Sun sign, Chinese zodiac animal, Life Path and much of your BaZi chart.

Your exact time helps us calculate:

Earth turns by roughly one degree every four minutes, so even a small difference in time can change what was rising or directly above you.

We will calculate everything that can still be calculated and clearly mark anything that is approximate or unavailable. We never quietly insert noon and pretend it was your actual birth time.

If you know roughly, AsterNym tests the relevant interval and shows which outputs stay the same and which change. Where an unknown time creates several valid charts, we calculate the full range rather than choosing one arbitrary time: Rising sign withheld or shown as a range; Human Design as stable or changing windows; Zi Wei conclusions that hold across every possible hour chart; the BaZi Hour Pillar withheld, with the deeper strength judgement marked provisional; the exact Birth Sky unavailable.

AsterNym cannot know another person’s private feelings.

The numeric score is exactly two things:

Together they make the AsterNym Match Score out of 100. BaZi is read in both directions, because what you bring to the other person may be different from what they bring to you.

Shared initials or name lengths, a shared birthplace or age group, the distance between your Birth-Sky Stars and any AsterNym star bond are shown as extra connections we noticed. They do not change the score, and a purchased star bond never makes two people more compatible.

If a birth time is missing, we show the score as a range and explain the level of confidence. Every part of the calculation is displayed with the result.

The score is a proprietary symbolic index, not a probability that a friendship or relationship will succeed.

AsterNym can show your traditional wealth patterns, working style, money blind spots, periods traditionally interpreted as more or less supportive, and lucky numbers, colours, days and directions. AsterNym does not predict that you will become rich or poor.

You can use these as prompts for planning, motivation and making more intentional choices.

Lucky numbers do not change the mathematical odds of Toto, 4D, lotteries, gambling or investments. Never risk money you cannot afford to lose, and use qualified financial advice for important decisions.

AsterNym will not tell you that a tragedy happened because of your chart, your karma or something you did wrong.

During painful or confusing periods, a reading may help you name what you are feeling, recognise strengths you can lean on and find a small next step.

It can offer reflection and comfort. It cannot replace grief counselling, medical care or professional support when those are needed.

Every Birth-Sky Star is a real astronomical object with catalogue coordinates that can be checked using independent astronomy tools.

If a usable birth time is known, AsterNym reconstructs the local sky for that moment and selects the eligible catalogue star nearest the zenith, the point directly overhead. If the birth time is unknown, an exact Birth-Sky Star cannot be known. AsterNym may show a clearly labelled reference evening sky instead, and calls that dedication a Night-of-Birth Star; it is not presented as the person’s exact birth moment.

Its position is calculated. What the star comes to mean to you is personal.

You are creating a symbolic dedication connected to a real catalogued star.

Your chosen name, message and star are recorded on a public commemorative registry page unless the product explicitly offers another privacy setting. You can return to it, share it and find the star again on the AsterNym Galaxy Map. Do not place information in the dedication that you would not want publicly accessible.

A dedication does not:

Dedication pages can be viewed by other people, so names and messages are checked for profanity, slurs, harassment and other prohibited content. AsterNym may reject or remove content that violates its published terms or could harm someone else.

Warm, funny, romantic and deeply personal are all welcome. Cruel or abusive is not.

If a documented birth time with a source and confidence level is available, we use it.

If no reliable birth time can be found, we cannot know that person’s exact birth sky. Instead, we create a clearly labelled reference evening sky using 9:00 p.m. local time above their birthplace on their birth date, and call the star a Night-of-Birth Star.

That reference time is only an evening-sky illustration. It does not become the person’s birth time for any other system: AsterNym does not invent a time to create an Ascendant, houses, an Hour Pillar or other time-sensitive results. Stable date-based results are shown; uncertain results are omitted, ranged or labelled as reference calculations.

Birth dates and birthplaces come from Wikidata and other cited public sources.

When a birth time is available, we show its source and confidence level. You can follow the source links and check the information yourself.

Celebrity readings are interpretations of public birth information. They are not endorsed by the person and do not claim to reveal their actual feelings or private life.

Your guest birth profile is stored on your device rather than in an AsterNym account, until you use the visible delete option. Some limited information is still transmitted when a feature needs it: your first name for a name-popularity lookup, city text for place and time-zone lookup, and the technical services described in our Privacy Policy.

Creating an account is optional and requires only an email address. The profile you choose to save can then be synchronised across your devices.

AsterNym is not available for independent use by anyone under 18.

A parent or legal guardian can create a child reading through parent mode. That child profile stays on the parent’s device and is not stored in an AsterNym account or on AsterNym’s servers.
