Draconic synastry: the 'soul level' reading

The calculation

Subtract your north node's longitude from every point in the chart. Every planet keeps its spacing, so every natal aspect survives unchanged; only the signs and houses move. A draconic chart holds no new information about your planets' relationships. Anyone describing new aspects in one has made an arithmetic error.

Where the soul-level framing comes from

From the nodes alone. Modern Western astrology calls them karmic points, so a chart re-zeroed to the node gets called a soul chart. Node means soul, therefore a node-based chart is a soul chart: a chain of associations, not a derivation, and the nodal karmic reading is itself a recent addition.

Soul-level is a marketing phrase, and I'd drop the draconic chart with it.

How it is used in synastry

Draconic to draconic, which mostly shows what a natal comparison would, offset. Draconic Sun on natal Sun is the signature contact, and it occurs whenever two people's Sun-to-node distances happen to match, a coincidence of two arbitrary offsets.

The straight position

Arithmetically well-defined and reproducible, which beats vaguer methods, and entirely unvalidated, with a claim that can't be checked in principle. The specific risk: 'we're connected at a deeper level' is a poor reason to stay somewhere unhappy. What is a draconic chart?

Your natal chart with every position shifted so the north lunar node sits at 0° Aries, a single subtraction applied to every point that preserves all the spacings.

Do draconic charts show different aspects?

No. Subtracting the same amount from every position preserves every difference, and an aspect is a difference. Only signs and houses change.

Is draconic synastry reliable?

It is well-defined arithmetically but unvalidated, and the claim that it reveals a soul-level connection can't be checked in principle.
