Hexagram 6 line 1: Conflict, yin in the first place

Do not carry the matter on. There is a little talk, but the end is fortunate.
At the start, the best move is to let the dispute go. Some criticism follows, and it does not matter; dropping it early costs almost nothing and saves everything the later lines describe.
Advice. Let it go now while letting go is cheap.
What changes when line 1 moves
Line 1 of Hexagram 6 is yin, a broken line. When it is cast as old yin (a 6) it flips, and the hexagram becomes Hexagram 10, Treading: Careful conduct in a delicate situation: treading on the tiger's tail, and not being bitten.
Read together, the reading moves from Conflict toward Treading. A dispute you are sincere in but cannot win outright: meet halfway, and take advice before going further. Lake below, heaven above: the gentle and cheerful beneath the strong. Treading is about conduct, about how to move through a situation where a wrong step has real consequences. The primary hexagram describes the situation; the changing line is the point of movement in it; the resulting hexagram is where that movement leads. Both hexagrams belong to the reading, and the changing line is the hinge between them.
