Questions people reasonably ask
Am I buying or officially naming a star?
No. You are creating a commemorative dedication in the private AsterNym registry. The star retains its scientific identity and no ownership changes hands.
Why does a Signature Star renew annually?
AsterNym limits each named star to one active Signature dedication at a time, so Signature slots are finite within our registry. The star itself is not scarce; the registry slot is. Your annual dedication keeps that slot reserved for you and includes an updated sky-anniversary reading each year.
What happens if I cancel?
Future charges stop. Your certificate and dedication record remain yours, but the public registry page is archived, your exclusive reservation ends and the star can be offered again.
Does the $9.90 Birth-Sky dedication expire?
No. It is a one-time dedication selected from AsterNym's much larger catalogue-star collection.
Can I give a Signature Star as a gift?
Yes. You control the subscription initially and can later invite the recipient to take over future renewals.
