The answer
MyNitya is a conversational service where you ask an AI astrologer questions about work, love and timing, and it answers from a Vedic or Western chart it builds from your birth data. Your first reading is free and further questions run on credits. AsterNym computes eight systems from the same data and publishes the result as pages you read, with models kept out of every calculation. Ask MyNitya if you want a back-and-forth about a specific decision; use us if you want the chart itself, shown and explained. Disclosure: we make AsterNym.
Two answers to the same question
Ask "should I take this job" and the two products do different things. MyNitya will hold a conversation about it, using your chart as the material. AsterNym will show you what eight systems say about your chart and let you draw the conclusion, and its career page will read your placements against the question without pretending to know your industry.
Neither can tell you whether to take the job. Both should say so, and we try to say it in as many words.
We built one of these two things, so treat the framing with suspicion and read MyNitya's own site for their version.
Where models sit in each product
MyNitya's site describes building a Vedic or Western chart from your date, exact time, place and historical time zone before it responds, then generating an answer to your question. The conversation is the product.
Our position on models is narrower, and it's a design choice rather than a virtue. Every chart fact here comes out of a deterministic engine: the Western chart from astronomy-engine, BaZi from the Chinese calendar rules, Jyotish from sidereal longitudes with the Lahiri ayanamsa. Interpretations are written by people. A model runs in exactly one place, Ask AsterNym, where it explains our own pages, never computes a placement, and returns a fixed sentence when nothing on the site matches your question.
That means we can't do what MyNitya does. There is no ongoing conversation here, and if you ask us something we haven't written about, you get a refusal rather than an answer.
What MyNitya is better at
- Answering the question you asked, in your own words, instead of making you find the page that covers it.
- Vedic and Western in one conversation, switchable, which is closer to how a working Indian astrologer would handle a query.
- Follow-ups. A chart reading raises three more questions and a conversation can take them; a page can't.
- Getting started free. The first reading costs nothing and needs no card, which is a fair way to let people find out whether they like it.
What we hold on to
- No per-question meter. Everything here is free to read as often as you like. MyNitya's site describes credits, with daily guidance at one credit a day and compatibility questions at two, and doesn't publish dollar prices on the homepage.
- The calculation is visible. We print the placements and the conventions. If a reading is wrong, you can see where it came from.
- Eight systems that are allowed to disagree. We show conflicts between traditions instead of resolving them into one voice.
- A model can't invent a fact here, because it never touches the arithmetic.
One thing to check on any AI astrology service
Ask it something the chart cannot answer. When will I die, is my partner cheating, will this pregnancy work out. The answer tells you more about the product than any reading will.
The good response is a refusal with a reason. We publish ours at what we won't tell you, and we'd hold any competitor, and ourselves, to it.
Is MyNitya free?
Its site says the first reading is free with no card required, and that further questions run on credits, with daily guidance at one credit and compatibility questions at two. Dollar prices for credit packs were not published on the homepage when we checked on 7 September 2026.
Does AsterNym use AI to write readings?
No. Every chart fact is computed by a deterministic engine and every interpretation is written by a person and stored as data. A language model runs only on the Ask page, where it explains existing site pages, never calculates a placement, and refuses when no page matches the question.
Which is better for Vedic astrology?
They differ in shape rather than quality. MyNitya will discuss your Vedic chart conversationally and switch between Vedic and Western. AsterNym publishes your Jyotish placements, nakshatra and pada, Vimshottari dasha timeline and divisional chart with the ayanamsa stated, which is more reference than conversation.
