Under whole-sign houses, where each house is exactly one sign, interceptions cannot occur, so whether you have one depends entirely on which house system your chart used.

How it happens

In quadrant systems houses are unequal. A house wide enough can swallow a whole sign. Interceptions come in pairs, with the opposite sign intercepted too, and another sign lands on two cusps. The effect grows with latitude; above the polar circles some systems break down entirely.

What it is said to mean

The usual reading is that an intercepted sign's qualities are harder to reach, enclosed, needing deliberate effort. A second reading says the themes arrive later in life. Neither has evidence, and both vanish the moment someone reads your chart in whole-sign.

Interceptions are a house-system artefact, and I'd rather change the house system than interpret the artefact.

The house system question underneath

Whole-sign assigns one sign per house, works at any latitude, and cannot intercept. Placidus divides by time, produces unequal houses, and distorts badly far from the equator. AsterNym uses whole-sign, stated on every chart, so its charts never show interceptions. The system doesn't generate them.

Check which house system produced your chart. Compare with whole-sign. Note your latitude, since far from the equator interceptions are common rather than remarkable. And be wary of any reading that leans hard on a placement that disappears under a different convention.
