Business name numerology calculator

Enter your candidates and they come back ranked. Each is reduced in both Chaldean and Pythagorean numerology, then scored against your own Life Path and your BaZi Day Master element — because the tradition's real claim is about fit between a founder and a name, not about the number alone.

Why two systems

Pythagorean numerology runs A=1 through I=9 and then repeats, which makes it easy to do in your head and is why every western numerology book teaches it. Chaldean assigns values from an older Babylonian-derived table that follows the sound of a letter rather than its place in the alphabet, and it never gives a letter the value 9 — the tradition holds 9 apart as sacred, though a total can still reduce to it.

The two systems disagree on most names. Business-name practitioners use Chaldean, so it carries the ranking here and the Pythagorean number is shown beside it. When both land on the same number the tradition reads the name as settled, which is uncommon enough to be worth flagging.

Chaldean also reads the compound — the total before it is reduced. 16 is its classic warning number and 23 its most favoured, and those readings apply to the raw sum, not the single digit. Most calculators throw that away.

What each number means for a business

Read for a company rather than a person, which is a different question — a number that is difficult in a personality reading can be well suited to a business, and the reverse.

1The originatorMetal
Being first, being the founder's name on the door, anything where the pitch is that nobody else does this.
Watch: Partnerships. A 1 name is read as a solo signature, and it does not share the marquee gracefully.
2The partnerWater
Two-founder businesses, agencies, anything built on a relationship — matchmaking, mediation, service.
Watch: Scale. The tradition reads 2 as excellent at the deal and slow at the empire.
3The communicatorFire
Anything creative or public-facing: media, design, food, fashion, entertainment, a brand people talk about.
Watch: Focus. A 3 name attracts attention to everything, including the parts not ready to be looked at.
4The builderEarth
Construction, logistics, software infrastructure, anything where the promise is that it will not break.
Watch: Speed. 4 is read as durable and slow, which is wrong for a business that has to grow fast to survive.
5The moverWood
Travel, sales, marketing, marketplaces, anything with volume and turnover and a changing product.
Watch: Consistency. 5 is read as restless — good for launch, awkward for a business that must feel stable.
6The carerEarth
Health, beauty, hospitality, education, home, anything where trust and repeat custom are the model.
Watch: Boundaries. The tradition reads 6 as over-serving, which shows up as underpricing.
7The specialistWater
Research, analysis, consulting, security, luxury craft — anything narrow, deep and expensive.
Watch: Volume. 7 is read as poorly suited to mass market; it wants few clients paying properly.
8The money numberMetal
Almost any commercial venture. In Chinese practice 8 is the wealth number outright, and Chaldean reads it as power with a heavy price attached.
Watch: Chaldean does not read 8 as simply lucky — it reads it as consequential. Success and difficulty both arrive at scale.
9The completerFire
Mission-led businesses, non-profits, anything with a cause attached, anything global in ambition.
Watch: Margins. 9 is read as generous, and the tradition warns it gives away what it should charge for.
11The visionary (master number)Water
Ideas businesses, anything early, anything the market does not understand yet.
Watch: The tradition reads 11 as high-voltage — brilliant and unstable. Many practitioners advise reducing it to 2 for a business.
22The master builder (master number)Earth
Infrastructure and institutions — the number the tradition attaches to businesses meant to outlast their founders.
Watch: It demands scale to work. On a small business 22 is read as pressure without payoff.
33The master teacher (master number)Earth
Education, healthcare, anything whose product is other people's improvement.
Watch: Rare and heavy. The tradition says it asks more of a founder than most want to give.
