Fred Chappell (born May 28, 1936, Canton, United States; died 2024), was an American poet, novelist. Chappell is best remembered for Dagon. Chappell's honours include Bollingen Prize, World Fantasy Award for Best Short Fiction and North Carolina Award for Literature.
