For fun, from someone who has ordered coffee in eleven countries and watched the same twelve people do it every time.

Straight to it
Fire signs order something strong and fast, earth signs order the same thing every time, air signs order whatever is new on the board, and water signs order something comforting with a lot of milk. That is the whole system, extended below into twelve. It is entertainment.

Where the pattern comes from
The queue at a good kopitiam in Penang tells you more about people than any personality test. The bones of the list are element and modality, from the modality cheat sheet: element decides the flavour, modality decides whether you start, repeat or change your mind.
For the record, I am a fire sign and I order the same thing every time, a kopi-o kosong wherever I can get one. So much for the list.
