Atle Selberg (born June 14, 1917, Langesund, Norway; died 2007), was a Norwegian mathematician. Selberg is best remembered for Selberg trace formula, Chowla–Selberg formula and Selberg zeta function. Selberg's honours include Fields medal, Knight Grand Officer of the Order of Saint Olav and Wolf Prize in Mathematics.
