François Jacob (born June 17, 1920, Nancy, France; died 2013), was a French biologist and geneticist, winner of the Nobel Prize in 1965. Jacob served as seat 38 of the Académie française and chancellor. Jacob's honours include Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, Grand Officer of the National Order of Merit and Grand Prix Charles-Leopold Mayer.
