The command clash is the real test
Dogs hear vowel shape and stress, not spelling. A name that rhymes with a command you are teaching — Kit against sit, Bo against no, Ray against stay — makes both harder to learn, and it is the single most common naming mistake trainers see.
The calculator flags it. It is a note rather than a rejection, because plenty of people live happily with a Kit; you should just know before rather than after.
One or two syllables, or you will shorten it yourself
Bartholomew becomes Bart within a fortnight. If a name has more than three syllables the household picks a short form, and the short form is the one the animal actually learns — so score that one instead and let the long version be ceremonial.
What the numerology is doing
The letters are converted in Chaldean numerology, the total reduces to a single digit, and that digit is scored against your Lo Shu grid, your Day Master and your Life Path — the same arithmetic as every other name calculator here, shown in full underneath each result.
The chart being used is yours, not the animal’s. Very few people know a rescue’s birth date, and inventing one to make a calculator work would be dishonest. If you do know it, the pet’s own reading belongs in the birth chart tool.
