The first twelve characters are the name
An iPhone home screen shows roughly twelve characters before it gives up and adds an ellipsis. Whatever comes after that is for the store listing, not for the person who installed you — they will read the first word and nothing else.
Thirty characters is the hard limit on both Apple and Google. The calculator flags both thresholds separately, because they mean different things: thirty gets you rejected, twelve just gets you forgotten.
Words that fail review
Apple refuses names carrying price or ranking claims — “free”, “best”, “top”, “#1”. Emoji are refused as well, and carry no value in any numerological tradition either, so they cost you twice.
None of this is a judgement about your name. It is what the reviewer will do with it, checked before you find out the slow way.
