The number on the door is a modern popular addition and no classical text weighs it. Floor numbers and the missing fourth
Many buildings in Chinese-speaking regions skip the 4th, 14th and 24th floors entirely, and some skip 13 as well for western buyers. This is worth knowing as a fact about the market: a flat on a renumbered floor is physically the fourth floor regardless of what the lift button says.
