Operators and dealers hold back the ones with runs of eights or repeating digits and sell them at a premium, and a number ending 8888 can cost more than the handset attached to it. Nothing about the network changes. What is being sold is the sequence.
That market is the clearest price anyone has ever put on numerology, and it runs in one direction: eights up, fours down. Why the last four digits
In most markets the network fixes the prefix and you choose the tail. That is why number sellers price by the ending: a tail of 8888 in Hong Kong or Singapore trades for real money, and a tail containing 4 discounts. The reading here weights the whole number, but the ending is the part you control.
What the tradition claims
That a number you carry constantly participates in your elemental balance, the same logic as a house facing a favourable direction. There is no evidence for it. It costs nothing to choose the better of two available numbers, which is the honest use of this page.
