Why letters only
A display name has no numerals in it most of the time, so this page runs pure Chaldean, the system that assigns letter values by sound rather than alphabet position, and the one name numerology uses. Emoji have no numerological value in any tradition, and any calculator that assigns them one has invented it.
Shortening changes the number
Ana and Ana Reyes reduce differently, which is the single most useful thing on this page: if you like your name but not its number, the tradition's own remedy is to use a different form of it. That is exactly what stage names have always done.
