Fifteen characters changes the arithmetic
X allows 15 characters and no full stops, the tightest limit of any platform on this site. That constraint reaches into the numerology rather than sitting beside it: Chaldean scoring adds letter values, so a 15-character ceiling puts a hard cap on the totals you can reach at all. Several of the higher compound numbers are simply not available in a handle this short.
The practical effect is that the shortlist you can score here is narrower than on Instagram or Discord, and the numbers that do come out repeat more. If a particular total matters to you, the display name field, which runs to 50 characters, is where there is room to hit it.

Fifteen characters, spent by other people
Your handle is not really typed by you. It is typed by everyone quoting you, and it costs them characters every time. Under twelve leaves room for a sentence around the mention, so the short ones get quoted more.
Four is the floor. Anything shorter was claimed fifteen years ago and is not coming back.
What gets a handle refused
Letters, digits and underscores only. No full stops, which is the rule that catches people moving over from Discord or Instagram. Handles containing “admin” or “twitter” are restricted and are almost always refused.
Each candidate is checked against all of it, and one that fails cannot win the ranking no matter what the numerology says about it.
