There are 2,118,760 ways to fill the 5 main numbers, and each must also land the right Euro Numbers, 66 ways to draw 2 from 12, from a separate pool, which multiplies out to the 1 in 139,838,160.

The birthday problem
This is not a system and it will not shorten your odds by any amount. It is about crowding. Some numbers are held by far more tickets than others, and that decides what a jackpot is divided by rather than who wins it.
EuroJackpot draws from 50 numbers. The calendar reaches 31 of them, about 62 per cent of the board, and leaves 19 that no birthday can produce. Dates cannot reach past 31, so every line built from one crowds into the same stretch of the board. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 8.0 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. The high numbers are not luckier. They are lonelier, and that is the whole of the effect. The Euro Numbers pool stops at 12, so that one sits inside calendar range whatever you do with the main numbers.

The other European pool
EuroJackpot covers a wider set of countries than EuroMillions and was set up to compete with it directly. Since March 2022 the two games have had exactly the same shape: five from 50 plus two from a pool of 12. Sources describing EuroJackpot as two from 10 are quoting the pre-2022 format.
Identical formats mean identical odds, so the difference between the two is which countries are in the pool and how the prize tiers are funded, not how hard the top prize is to hit.
A player in a country that sells both is choosing on jackpot size alone. Jackpot size follows ticket sales, ticket sales follow the last jackpot, and neither has any bearing on the next draw. Two identical games running side by side make that loop easier to see than usual.
