Lucky Canadian lottery numbers
Lines for both national draws, Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max seven from 50, weighted by the digit roots your chart favours.
Numbers built from your chart, not a shuffle
Any site can pick random numbers. Weighting the pool by your own Day Master, Life Path and Lo Shu grid needs your birth moment.
The formats, side by side
| Game | Numbers drawn | Jackpot odds |
|---|---|---|
| Lotto 6/49 | 6 of 1–49 | 1 in 13,983,816 |
| Lotto Max | 7 of 1–50 | 1 in 99,884,400 |
Lotto 6/49
Six from 49, drawn Wednesday and Saturday. Since 2022 every ticket also carries a separate Gold Ball number for its own prize, which is printed rather than chosen. There are 13,983,816 ways to choose 6 numbers from 49, and a line covers exactly one of them, which is the whole arithmetic behind the 1 in 13,983,816.
Lotto Max
Seven from 50, the larger Canadian game, and among the longest odds of any seven-number draw here. There are 99,884,400 ways to choose 7 numbers from 50, and a line covers exactly one of them, which is the whole arithmetic behind the 1 in 99,884,400.
Lotto 6/49: Odds for the rest of the table
The same counting that gives the jackpot figure gives every tier below it: ways to match exactly that many numbers, divided into the total number of possible draws.
| Result | Odds of exactly this |
|---|---|
| Match 6 | 1 in 13,983,816 |
| Match 5 | 1 in 54,201 |
| Match 4 | 1 in 1,032 |
| Match 3 | 1 in 56.7 |
One line, that result and no better. What it pays, if anything, is set where the money is, not here.
Lotto Max: Odds for the rest of the table
The same counting that gives the jackpot figure gives every tier below it: ways to match exactly that many numbers, divided into the total number of possible draws.
| Result | Odds of exactly this |
|---|---|
| Match 7 | 1 in 99,884,400 |
| Match 6 | 1 in 331,842 |
| Match 5 | 1 in 5,267 |
| Match 4 | 1 in 231 |
| Match 3 | 1 in 23.1 |
One line, that result and no better. What it pays, if anything, is set where the money is, not here.

Picking above 31
Read this as a note on other players, not on the draw. Your chance of matching is fixed by the format. Your chance of matching alone is not, and that is the difference between a whole prize and a quarter of one.
Lotto 6/49
Lotto 6/49 draws from 49 numbers. The calendar reaches 31 of them, about 63 per cent of the board, and leaves 18 that no birthday can produce. A slip filled from memory almost always stays under 32, because that is where the calendar stops. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 5.3 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. The high numbers are not luckier. They are lonelier, and that is the whole of the effect.
Lotto Max
19 of the 50 numbers on a Lotto Max form are above 31, which puts them outside every birthday, anniversary and door number in play. Dates cannot reach past 31, so every line built from one crowds into the same stretch of the board. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 2.6 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. The high numbers are not luckier. They are lonelier, and that is the whole of the effect.
Figures computed from each game's own format. The calculator above weights your pool by your chart rather than by this, and neither approach makes a draw more predictable than it is.
Two games, two extra layers
Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max are both run through the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation, and both bolt something onto the basic draw. The 6/49 ticket carries a separate guaranteed prize draw with its own number, so the slip holds two unrelated bets. Lotto Max spills overflow above its cap into extra million-dollar draws instead of growing the top prize indefinitely.
Canadian lottery winnings are not taxed as income, which is unusual in this list and changes the advertised figure's meaning. The number on the billboard is closer to the number that arrives than it is in the United States.
Both games are national and neither is run centrally. Regional lottery corporations administer them province by province, so where the ticket was bought decides who pays you and under which set of claim rules.
