You do not pick numbers. Tickets are pre-printed with a six-digit number and you go and find one you want, so Thai lottery vendors are browsed rather than queued at. A 6-digit ticket is one of exactly 1,000,000 possible numbers, so a given ticket takes the top prize at 1 in 1,000,000, no combinatorics involved, just the count of 6-digit numbers.

Numbers you look for, not numbers you pick
The Government Lottery Office prints the tickets and you go and find one. There is no form to fill in, which makes this the opposite of every draw game on this site: the calculator above gives you a number to hunt for among the vendors, not a line to write down.
Thai number-hunting is the richest of any market here. Numbers are read off the registration plate of a crashed vehicle, the age of a monk, a date on a temple noticeboard, the markings on a tree that drew a crowd. Vendors sell above face value for a number in demand, which is the clearest market signal anywhere in lotteries: it tells you exactly which numbers other people believe in, and it is the reason a number everybody wants is a number you will pay more for and win no more often with.

This is a ticket game, not a pick game
The Thai Government Lottery does not work like a pick game. Tickets are printed in advance with a six-digit number on them, and buying one means walking a vendor's board and choosing a ticket whose number you like. That is why Thai lottery sellers are browsed rather than queued at, and why a number here is something to look for rather than something to fill in.
The odds follow from that directly. There are one million 6-digit numbers, so a given ticket taking first prize is 1 in one million. Most prizes on these games come from matching only the last two or three digits, which is where nearly all realised winnings sit.
