If you play somewhere else
The arithmetic travels. Any of these, or every lucky-number calculator.
Where the PCSO money goes
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office runs these five, and the charity part is not decoration. PCSO revenue funds medical assistance, and for a lot of families the office is a place you go for help with a hospital bill rather than a place you buy a ticket. That double role is why the draws are televised as a public event.
The five games are the clearest ladder of any market on this site: 6/42, 6/45, 6/49, 6/55, 6/58, same shape, five different sets of odds. If you want the best chance of any single line on this page winning anything at all, it is the 6/42, and it always will be, because the arithmetic does not care which game is advertised hardest this week.
What dates do to a shared jackpot
None of this makes a draw more likely to go your way. The balls have no memory and no preference. It bears on one thing only: how many other people picked what you picked, and therefore how far a shared prize has to stretch.
Lotto 6/42
11 of the 42 numbers on a Lotto 6/42 form are above 31, which puts them outside every birthday, anniversary and door number in play. Birthdays, anniversaries and door numbers all run out at 31, and hand-filled slips cluster there accordingly. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 14.0 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. Nothing up there is more likely to be drawn. Rather less of the country is waiting on it.
Mega Lotto 6/45
14 of the 45 numbers on a Mega Lotto 6/45 form are above 31, which puts them outside every birthday, anniversary and door number in play. Hand-picked lines lean on that smaller half, because birthdays, anniversaries and house numbers all stop at 31. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 9.0 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. Nothing up there is more likely to be drawn. Rather less of the country is waiting on it.
Super Lotto 6/49
Of the 49 main numbers in Super Lotto 6/49, 31 could be a day of the month and 18 could not. A slip filled from memory almost always stays under 32, because that is where the calendar stops. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 5.3 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. A line reaching above 31 wins no more often. It is held by fewer people when it does.
Grand Lotto 6/55
Of the 55 main numbers in Grand Lotto 6/55, 31 could be a day of the month and 24 could not. A slip filled from memory almost always stays under 32, because that is where the calendar stops. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 2.5 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. A line reaching above 31 wins no more often. It is held by fewer people when it does.
Ultra Lotto 6/58
27 of the 58 numbers on a Ultra Lotto 6/58 form are above 31, which puts them outside every birthday, anniversary and door number in play. Birthdays, anniversaries and door numbers all run out at 31, and hand-filled slips cluster there accordingly. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 1.8 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. Nothing up there is more likely to be drawn. Rather less of the country is waiting on it.
These follow from the pool size and nothing else. Treat them as a note on crowding, and treat the reading above as a way to choose rather than a way to predict.
