How Singapore plays it
Singapore Pools runs TOTO, and it is the only legal operator in the country. Whatever is left after prizes and costs goes to the Tote Board and out again to sport, the arts and community projects, which is the reason a state that prosecutes illegal betting hard runs a lottery of its own.
The number habits here come out of Chinese numerology rather than the draw. Four turns up less often on hand-picked lines than chance would put it, because 四 sounds close to 死. Eight turns up more, for the same reason in reverse. Queues form at outlets that have sold a winning ticket before, which tells you something about how people read a run of luck, and nothing at all about where the next one lands.

The only edge on this page
This is not a system and it will not shorten your odds by any amount. It is about crowding. Some numbers are held by far more tickets than others, and that decides what a jackpot is divided by rather than who wins it.
18 of the 49 numbers on a Singapore TOTO form are above 31, which puts them outside every birthday, anniversary and door number in play. Birthdays, anniversaries and door numbers all run out at 31, and hand-filled slips cluster there accordingly. Lines built entirely from calendar numbers make up 5.3 per cent of the possible lines, and a far larger share of the tickets people fill in by hand. Nothing up there is more likely to be drawn. Rather less of the country is waiting on it.
These follow from the pool size and nothing else. Treat them as a note on crowding, and treat the reading above as a way to choose rather than a way to predict.

Every combination is equally likely
1 2 3 4 5 6 has exactly the same chance as any spread of numbers that looks more random, because the draw has no memory and no preference. The one genuine consideration in choosing numbers is that picking an unpopular combination does not improve your odds of winning. It improves your share if you do, since fewer people split the prize. Birthdays cluster below 32, so date-based lines are among the most heavily duplicated.
